1) If your AccessPORT is currently installed, uninstall your AccessPORT from your car by following the uninstall directions provided by the AccessPORT menu uninstall option.
2) Remove ALL existing calibrations from your AccessPORT using the AP Manager software. You can save them on your computer if you like for future reference.
3) Update the AccessPORT firmware using the AccessPORT Updater downloaded above.
4) UnZIP the new MazdaManiac base calibration that and move it to the AP Manager and then onto your AccessPORT using the AP Manager software.
5) Install the new Base Calibration on your MazdaSpeed 6's PCM using the install menu option on the AccessPORT. If your AccessPORT identifies your model differently than the selection you have made from the above link, you will not be able to install the new base calibration. Please Contact MazdaManiac with the information presented on the installation screen about your particular model MazdaSpeed 6 if it is different than that which you provided when ordering your calibration.

6) Start your MazdaSpeed 6, bring it to operating temperature and drive it carefully for a few minutes. For the purposes of the Calibration Service, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO OBSERVE ANY DISPLAYED PARAMETERS AT THIS TIME (though you may, if you choose to do so). Allow your MazdaSpeed 6 to cool for at least 8 hours and repeat this drive cycle again, allowing the engine to cool completely before proceeding.

If your MazdaSpeed 6 will not run/idle, please uninstall the AccessPORT and contact MazdaManiac using the provided e-mail link below in the "8 Deadly Questions" section.

Perform the following data-log procedure:

1) Plug your AccessPORT into the MazdaSpeed 6 and start the car. Allow it to warm up thoroughly.
2) Select "Monitor" from the menu options. Press the "OK" button.
3) Select "Set Data Log List" from the "Monitor" menu. Press the "OK" button.
4) check ONLY the following option check-boxes:

  • Accel. Ped. Pos.

  • Actual AFR

  • Boost

  • Fuel Press. Sens.

  • Knock Retard

  • Long Term FT1

  • Mass Airflow

  • Rel Throttle Pos.

  • RPM

  • Short Term FT1

  • Spark Adv.

  • Vehicle Speed

  • Wastegate Duty

5) Press the "Back" button then press the "OK" button.
6) Select "Data Log" from the "Monitor" menu. Press the "OK" button
7) Press the "OK" button again to start the data-log.
8) After approximately 10 seconds, press the "OK" button again to stop the data-log. You have just created your first data-log of the engine's idle performance.
9) Take your MazdaSpeed 6 to a safe section of relatively flat highway where you can get the vehicle up to 4200 RPM for several miles at a time without being disturbed. This will be performed in 4th gear
10) Once you are up to 4200 RPM, turn on your A/C, headlamps and rear defroster and set the cruise control to hold your speed.
11) Press the "OK" button again to start the data-log and continue to cruise for a minimum of 30 seconds.

12) Press the "OK" button again to stop the log.

13) Again, on a safe section of open, flat highway, lower your RPMs to 2000 in 2nd gear.

14) Press the "OK" button again to start the data-log and accelerate at WOT to redline.

15) Release the gas pedal and allow the vehicle to slow and your RPMs to drop and switch to 3rd gear.

16) When your RPMs have dropped to 2000, once again accelerate at WOT to redline or to the highest safe speed you can attain.
17) Press the "OK" button again to stop the log and return to your starting location.

IF YOU OBSERVE ACTUAL AFRs ABOVE 12.2 OR HEAR AUDIBLE RATTLE KNOCK, IMMEDIATELY RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL AND DO NOT ATTEMPT ANOTHER WOT PASS UNTIL CONTACTING MAZDAMANIAC.

You can now download these three data-logs that you have created using the "Advanced View" menu (ctrl-D) in the AP Manager. They will be saved as Microsoft Excel files.
Send an e-mail using
THIS LINK, attach the three data-log files you have just created (one at idle, one at a steady cruise and one at WOT through 2nd and 3rd gears to redline) and a copy of your current calibration.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ATTACH THESE 4 FILES OR YOUR CALIBRATION SUBMISSION WILL BE REJECTED!
